Things You should know before doing your Startup
Hi! My name is Sunit Kale and I am a passionate Software Engineer. I have a great background in working in this industry. I worked in MNC, I had my own startup and then another small case Software service-based company.
Here I am going to share my experience and what things I faced when I started my own company with my friends and how it went like. I have also shared what mistakes you could avoid at the beginning of your startup.

Industry Experience matters a lot before Startup
It sounds a bit negative but many youngsters start their own startup just to show off and impress others. I have seen those days when I started startup I was feeling nervous to tell people that I am the CEO of my startup because what I tell them and they think like if he is the CEO of the startup then how his startup will be? So, I usually just tell people that I am doing a job only.
Now coming to the point, I have mentioned that I had experience working with one of the Top MNC. If you have good at coding, you know how to write a whole application from backend to frontend and then deployment then also you should first get yourself experienced with the companies by working there as they already had applied and tested all the ways of the process to complete one project from scratch. Companies have their own guidelines that have experts level analyzed and all the employees follow those guidelines from top-level management to the new joiner. And because of that big companies are sustaining for years of years. They already have their plans ready for each situation and data for the next 10 years. So, if you don’t learn or understand those things before your startup then your startup is already at a disadvantage.
Things I did wrong in my Startup
After just 1 and a half years of my career experience, I started a startup with my 3 Engineering friends. Let me you a background about them, one was just doing a little frontend website by copying templates for his Indian clients which hardly pays him $100 per month. Another two friends were working in MNC who had no idea about startup culture but they had a gut feeling and just to do nature. I still feel regret for trusting them and wasting my careers days.
When I left my old company to start the startup I was confident in myself because I had expertise in building end-to-end applications because I already worked on the things that millions of people daily use in the whole US. So, before jumping into the startup I approached my first outside client who was from Michigan. He used to pay me $2k per month for the work I was putting for him. I told the same to my friends that if we all start doing the same like bringing the projects from outside and hiring people from India then we could have profit for our company and can manage everything because in India the average salary of fresher Software Engineer is about $300 per month. But it did not go as I thought, as soon as we started I used to do all the work from which we could generate money and they were just coming and sitting non-productive work like managing light bills, deciding the companies Position like who will play what role, going out in the working time for searching decorative thins for office and spending my earned money non-useful things. We didn’t even save a penny and my friends even booked 30 seaters office with all amenities which was going to cost us Rs. 1.5Lakhs/month. And that’s when I decided to move out from them and joined my old company which was also a small case but I love that job.
Anyways, hope you will learn some things from it and make avoid mistakes that I did.
